About this site

Who writes it

Oliver Wakefield-Smith, founder of Digital Signet, a UK company that builds reference and calculator sites for buying decisions. The perspective throughout is a media buyer’s: what would I need on one screen before spending someone’s budget on podcast ads.

What vendor-neutral means here, concretely

This site sells no podcast inventory, represents no shows, and takes no placement fees or commissions from any platform, marketplace, network, or agency covered. No vendor has paid for coverage, placement order, or a kinder adjective. When the site says a network publishes nothing, there is no relationship making that sentence expensive to write. That independence claim is checked against the site’s actual monetization state and this page changes if that state changes.

How figures are sourced

The rules, mechanical enough to audit: every numeric claim traces to a vendor-published page, quoted verbatim with URL and date in the Session Log; derived numbers carry their formulas; vendors that publish nothing get an explicit no-published-rates flag, never an estimate; and figures that fail re-verification are corrected or removed, not quietly retained. Two genre pages planned for this site were cut at build time because their sources did not verify. That is the system working.

How the site is funded

Digital Signetoperates a portfolio of independent reference sites, some of which carry advertising or affiliate links. This site currently carries neither: no ads, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements. If that changes, this page and any affected recommendations will disclose it plainly, in line with the portfolio’s editorial-independence policy: commercial relationships never alter figures, rankings, or the decision to state that a vendor publishes nothing.
