What is the minimum to run podcast ads on Spotify?

Spotify’s help center states a minimum self-serve campaign budget of 250.00 in your local currency. That is the only hard number Spotify publishes. CPMs are set by auction bidding, not a rate card, so your effective CPM depends on targeting and competition, and Spotify does not publish what others pay.

What you are buying

Spotify Ads Manager (the platform formerly branded Ad Studio) sells audio ads across Spotify’s ad-supported listening, including podcast inventory Spotify monetizes. You upload or generate a pre-recorded spot, set targeting (geo, age, gender, interests, listening context), set a daily or lifetime budget, and the auction does the rest.

Two things follow from the auction model. First, no one can quote you a Spotify CPM in advance, including Spotify. Second, any third-party article citing a specific “Spotify podcast CPM” is reporting an anecdote, not a rate. This site declines to do that. The published figures are the 250.00 minimum and nothing else.

The transition worth knowing about

Ad Studio is transitioning to Spotify Ads Manager, and the current US pricing page publishes no figures at all: it says you determine your own budget and points bigger spenders at sales. The 250.00 minimum survives in help-center pages, which is why the Session Log cites the help center and not the marketing page. If the help-center figure disappears, this page changes.

Measurement

Spotify offers a pixel for site-conversion tracking plus campaign reporting inside Ads Manager. For a first test, pair the pixel with a promo code so you have one method the platform grades and one it cannot touch. Details: pixel attribution and promo codes.

Who it fits

Spotify is the lowest-friction start if your audience skews toward streaming listeners and you want geo and demographic targeting without talking to a salesperson. It is the wrong tool if you specifically want host-read endorsements: that is marketplace territory, see Libsyn Ads or Gumball.
